Results of a Multi-Center, Retrospective Cohort Analysis of All Neonates Admitted to the CICU at Boston Children’s Hospital and the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto

BOSTON, December 19, 2017Etiometry, a pioneering leader in next-generation patient monitoring, announced today that a study presented in the American Heart Association (AHA) Scientific Sessions 2017 demonstrates the capability of the Etiometry Platform to significantly reduce hospitals intensive care unit costs.

The Impact of a Real-Time Physiologic Data Analytic Index on Length of Stay in Neonates Following Surgery for Congenital Heart Disease abstract presented results from a retrospective study conducted in the first two hospitals that adopted Etiometry’s Inadequate Delivery of Oxygen (IDO2) Index. The study was co-authored by: Dr. Josh Salvin, Boston Children’s Hospital; Dr. Peter Laussen MBBS FCICM, The Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto; and Dr. Dimitar Baronov, PhD, Etiometry’s CTO. It demonstrates a statistically significant 25% reduction of length of stay (LOS) for the neonates admitted for cardiac intensive care in the two hospitals.

According to Etiometry’s COO Evan Butler, “There is a wide expectation in the clinical community that impactful information technology and actionable data analytics should bring much-needed reduction in hospital costs and improvement in patient outcomes. We are proud to see our Etiometry Platform leading the way in proving these expectations by demonstrating measurable positive impact in an especially vulnerable patient population.”

The Etiometry Platform consists of three software components: T3 Data Aggregation & VisualizationRisk Analytics Algorithms, and Quality Improvement System. They are integrated to support clinical use cases, such as meaningful workflow integration and streamlined measurement of care impact.
